In October 2009, 8 years after trading in his stetson, Garth Brooks announced that he was coming back out of retirement to perform weekly at the world renowned Wynn Resort in Las Vegas, and with the possibility of a world tour on the cards in the years following. This resulted in a resurrection of the Garth Brooks phenomenon worldwide and in particular in Ireland where Garth has always been close to the hearts of his many fans. As a result of this 'Friends In Low Places' - "The Ultimate Garth Brooks Experience” was born. The show was established to fulfill the musical want for his greatest fans across Ireland and Europe. Trevor Smith has always been recognized as one of the best Garth Brooks lookalike’s and soundalike’s in the country and between himself and his best friend and lead guitarist - Ken Gillick they decided to start up a Brooks tribute show. After 1 year of touring the show was signed to a music managemet company - Savee Entertainment and directly managed and promoted by managing director - Conor Mulhall. Over the years it has developed into the exciting and electrifying world class production we offer today.

The show consists of a live 8 piece band made up of some of the best musicians around, to replicate the completely live and exciting show that Garth himself is renowned for.

Friends In Low Places – The Ultimate Garth Brooks Experience has been performing in venues across Ireland, the UK and Europe and has been receiving an overwhelming reaction.

The show played some of the biggest and most renonwned theatres in Ireland and the UK, inlcuding the INEC, The Waterfront Hall, Cork Opera House, Vicar St. Dublin and the Bord Gais Energy Theatre Dublin. The show has also played at some of the biggest festivals in Ireland such as The Rose Of Tralee , Puck Fair, Sea Breeze Festival, Cowboys & Heros and many more. 

 

In 2014 Garth announced that he would return to Dublin to play five nights at Croke Park Stadium. This was to become one of the biggest live music events ever to take place in Dublin city with over 400,000 tickets sold! Unfortunately due to protests from local resident groups and politics over planning applications, all five concerts were cancelled at the last minute. 

The result of this fiasco was a bitter sweet for Trevor and the band. They had waited years to see their idol perform in Ireland once again, and like any other Garth fan the band were devasted when the concerts were cancelled at the last hour. The fiasco did however bring a lot of postive PR for 'Friends In Low Places', with Trevor and the band being featured in every national newspaper and radio station, and performing live on Sky News, The Late Late Show, Ireland AM, BBC and many more. It put the show on a whole new level and Garth fan's across Ireland were turning to Trevor and his band as the next best oppurtunity to experience Garth's music live.  

To cater for the thousands of Garth fans that had already booked hotels etc in Dublin, we decided to put on a large open air concert of our own in association with Dublin's biggest radio station-  98FM at the infamous Dalymount Park football stadium. All proceeds would go to Temple St. Childerns Hospital and Bohemians Football Club (who are the resident team at the football grounds, and at the time the gournds were on the verge of being closed down due to lack of funding). The event was a major success with fans from all over Ireland, and indeed the world, decending on Dalymount Park , coming together to celebrate the music of Garth - and all for a great cause!
